Trusting Doctor Bates was fatal as he was like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde type when he as the predator chased his unprotected target.
He was the beast of prey, and she his victim!
She was too much of a trusting soul and whilst he lurked in the sand as the two-faced lizard and waited for her so he as a predator could strike into her trusting soul. What she not knew, he lived a double life and wanted Mary to fall in love with him. But trusting Doctor Bates was fatal for her as he unethical appeared like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde type when he unscrupulous chased her unguarded soul.
With her fragile life she appeared too trustful towards Doctor Bates not seeing he was the predator, and she was his prey! Nor had she detected he was like a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde type who sank into his mania of deceitfulness.
Who was Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde?
Was Doctor Bates the same type?
Believe it or not! Suddenly the two-timing personality was there in front of her eyes! As a sneaky lizard he appeared shady and watched her whilst he rested in the sand as the sun gloved on his wizened body.
It was more than difficult to get it all down on paper. I wanted it to be authentic and wished to rationally sense the life as Mary had experienced it with her ‘lounge room lizard’. In my story I changed all the names of the characters, the establishments, and the places. The story appears fictional, but it contains ideas based on actual events.
It is my ambition to say in ten sentences what others say in a whole book.
– Friedrich Nietzsche
How to tell it in ten sentences?
That was one of my problems! It couldn’t be told in a few words telling about who he was like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Sorry, friends. However, ten sentences might have been too easy to read, so instead let’s jump to it.
However, at first I stayed embarrassed by my failures. Then I learned a lot about my miscalculations of the man I once loved. Next, I started a fresh life.
Thank you for the push Sir Richard Branson, it gave me a new beginning.
Screw it, Let’s do it. I did it!
And precisely of what Sir Richard Branson once said; I did it when I in my new process of life, added one more quote by the same man.
Letting the moonlight shine
Living near the beach was my dream. Then I wanted to walk it day and night letting the radiance shine from the moon and the sun glow from the clear sky. The most liberating thing was to fall asleep with the windows open, and tucked myself under the duvet whilst I listened to the sound of the waves that crashed on the beach. Whilst laying in bed I let the moonlight shine through the open door ajar and watched the stars in the clear night sky.
When I had decided to write the story of Burning Desire it began shortly after I had moved into my new apartment in the first row of homes, which faced the spectral sea. It was magical. And it provided a stunning view from the balcony which was barely fifty meters from the Bournemouth sea on the south coast of United Kingdom. I loved the golden sand and its many colourful beach huts when I walked along the promenade.
The night was peaceful and had awoken me at ten o’clock on a hot August summer morning, as the sun shone through my window.
I rested in my silky white sheets, warmly tucked around my naked body, and stretched my limbs like a lazy cat, since I had no desire to get up. Then I rubbed my eyes, sat on the edge of my bed and let the blood flow through all my veins. My eyes glared around in the room in confusion. Oh… my… goodness! There was boxes in every corner.
The balcony door stood ajar, so a nice fresh sea breeze sneaked into the room. Then, I noticed the sound of the crashing waves that reached my inner ear with a pleasant calmness, before I contemplated; Why not leave the boxes and begin writing a new book about who was Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? I mean the man I had known for a while who was like the same type.
Or finish the other one I worked on.
My life was rather unreal.
I was heartbroken and for a long time, I had not had the time or psyche to finish the book. Being loved one day and completely upset the next had turned my life upside down. I cried as I remembered how the man I loved, the two-faced personality which often had told me…
- ‘Trust me. I love only you. We are meant to be’
- ‘We will be together for the rest of our lives’.
He was a dangerous person
I was devastated! Thinks were not as he had promised. It was all a lie! The many red flags and his split personality had slipped past my attention about him being a dangerous person. Nevertheless, it was difficult to imagine and grasp a life without him.
Why was it so? Because I believed he was the best that had happened to me. Thus too late, I had figured out the meaning of the phrase ‘lounge room lizard’. I had trusted him with my life, and that was the biggest mistake I ever had made.
Then, I allowed myself to reveal something gruesome! Later I had figured out the same thing he had done to me had happened to the other women, too.
The medieval, ordinary man
Why was it so important to use the expression ‘lounge room lizard’? This was usually a reference to lounge musicians, and most often in a negative sense.
During my research I figured out that such a person had the character of a medieval, ordinary man. He looked charmingly good, yet the person resembled a dehydrated, oppressed lizard and often got romantically involved with a wealthy woman, too. They typically showed up as a well-dressed man and frequented surroundings where the rich and famous gathered. His main goal was to seduce a wealthy woman with his flattery and deceptive charm.
Oh, gully gosh! I couldn’t believe it. The dude had so much charisma and was extremely convincing while he presented to appear as a first-class trustworthy and charming personality.
I had met none person so full of good ideas as his. It was amazing how the fella captivated people in front of an assembly, too. The chap was so enchanting with his skills and high energy, so you could entirely fall in love with him.
- Trust me, baby!
Those were the main words during our time together.
A great deal of speculation
Later, various problems in his He lived a double life arose, alongside his many cunning plans. His professional approach or projects usually awakened a great deal of speculation, but often, it was too late to see through his disguise. Unfortunately, I did all my research too late. He excruciatingly conned me, because I loved him blindly.
The phrase ‘loungeroom lizard’ presumably relates to the cold and insinuating quality of the reptile. It had sharp claws like an eagle, and was unscrupulous when it snatched its next victim; usually a distressed woman. And them he wanted to lure into marriage.
What a great Russian proverb:
‘Love is evil. You can fall in love with a goat.’
In other words, love was blind, and the pretty headless chick became blinded. But this was not love, because he was not capable of love, nor had the compassion, empathy or could feel remorse. He faked his feelings with fake body language that he had watched others and Mary used.
He chillingly tormented her
Mary was such a sorrowful, pretty little doll when she met the man who eagerly tried at the early stage to seek some benefit from her, because he never married the previous one. The women he manipulated usually had valuable possessions and money that the lizard man could profit from, and the more naïve, unhappy, and helpless she was, the better for him.
It was never his fault!
Hereafter, he struck with his nasty sharp claws into her vulnerability and misused his women to the last drop, with no empathy or remorse. He chillingly tormented them until she occured severely wounded, like a helpless animal that drew her weak breath like an abandoned and helpless person in misery as she sprawled in the gutter! This was the man she trusted. Why had he done so?
Later, she discovered the maliciously cunning narcissistic artist in him. He was an evil psychopath behaving similar to a Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde type, acting like a bloodsucking leech who sucked the last blood out of others throughout his entire life.
His complete lack of self-discipline and respect for obligations, rules, and social norms were immense. Worst was his repeated speech patterns which were full of flying lies. His mood swings were almost impossible to see through, as he had the flawless ability to bend all the facts. It was always someone else’s fault.
That was his best play. No matter what, that’s how it was done. He never expressed true heartfelt sympathy, nor showed love, sadness or strong grief after loss in a genuine way. He could go from fake tears to none and the to anger all within a few minutes. So many examples of the mask he was wearing, he had no soul and no genuine love for her. He lived in the evil side of life, and it was all about him, him, him.
